Singing for the Brain: Neuroscience Talk and Song Circle
May 13 @6-7:30pm
Ever wonder what you can do to help take care of your brain? Singing can help create new connections in the brain that promote healing and wellness. Join neuroscientist and psychic singer Dr. Iris in exploring how singing impacts the nervous system. The class will begin with a short lecture about the neuroanatomy of the voice, the neural circuitry of songbirds, and clinical examples of singing therapy for the brain. The talk will be followed by a song circle where we will learn simple singing exercises and sing them together. Cost is $50 (cash, Venmo, or CashApp — tips are welcome!). Held at Hotel Cassadaga. Register early to reserve a seat by calling the hotel at 386-228-2323.
